26th October 2024

British School of Upholstered Furniture, Fawley Bottom Lane, Henley on Thames, RG9 6JH | 10am - 4pm

Experience a full day of creativity through making two unique lampshades using modern techniques and your own one-of-a-kind design. Delve into shaping, sizing, and innovative methods to express your individual style. Explore the interaction of light with various fabrics through colour theory and discover the impact of different linings for a diverse range of effects. Join for an immersive workshop where you bring your imagination to light.

ON THE DAY

  • Using colour theory and design techniques we will explore how to design the perfect lampshade for your home.

  • You will make two lampshades, one drum and one cone using, using modern hard PVC backing.

  • The lampshades (one small, one large) will be completely your design and could be any shape and size.

  • Cutting fabric and backing to your specific needs. No pre-cut sizes here!

  • Choose from a huge range of fabric or bring your own and we can see if it is suitable.

  • All materials are included.

  • Bring your own lunch. Refreshments will be provided.

YOUR IDEAS

Email me any specific ideas in advance and I can let you know if they are feasible. I am happy to advise on fabrics as well. Cotton works best but many other textiles work too but I recommend avoiding silk as it will come away from the backing over time.
